New to Boston DSA? Not sure how to get started? Not a member yet, but looking to dip your toe in? Or maybe you're a not-so-new member, but haven't been active in a while? Welcome! Join us via Zoom for a Chapter Orientation.

Comrades from our Onboarding & Membership Team will walk you through the chapter's mission and structure, answer questions, facilitate discussion about socialist organizing in Boston, discuss our Chapter's current priorities and projects, and help you get plugged in and involved in fighting for a better world.

Join us on Saturday May 17th for a canvassing training and launch for all of our currently endorsed campaigns! We will start with a brief training for those interested on door-to-door and street canvassing best practices, then canvass for any campaign of your choosing.

Feel free to meet back up in Porter with us after the event to hang out and share learnings from the day at a local bar or restaurant (not sponsored by BDSA).

Individual conversations are the building blocks of our movement. We talk to one another to inspire each other to action, to have a sense of agency in a world where we otherwise feel powerless, and to take care of one another. One-on-one conversations are essential to labor and tenant organizing as well as onboarding and activation in any volunteer-run space. In this training, you will learn and practice how to structure and have these conversations!

This in person training will focus on how to ask individuals to get more involved in our work and take on roles of responsibility. All members are welcome, though anyone interested in helping grow our chapter by talking to new members is highly encouraged to attend.

Join the Immigration and Internationalism Working Group for a Special Meeting to Choose Our Strategic Campaign! In this formal debate, we will hear the final campaign proposals submitted by members as well as speakers for and against. After, we will vote on what strategic campaign to adopt as a working group.

This event will be online to ensure as many members as possible can participate in this critical decision-making process.

The Administrative Committee is responsible for handling our chapter’s routine administrative functions such as chapter communications, technology infrastructure, membership data maintenance, and new member onboarding. The Administrative Committee is chaired by the Communications Coordinator and the Membership Coordinators of the Coordinating Committee.

hang with South Shore DSA comrades!

Join us at Panethnic Pourover’s Community Space for a potluck/board
game night style get together on May 25th at 6pm and meet some of your
fellow (or future!) South
Shore DSA comrades, hear about current DSA campaigns, and share what
excites you about community organizing. This is an informal gathering
for building relationships in the area and building connections with
each other. Also bring any games you'd like to share with about
an hour or less playtimes, so we can play a game or two while we gather!

We will have access to the cafe microwave and utensils, but the cafe itself
will not be formally open for customers.
