Socialist Field Day! A Fundraiser for Evan for Cambridge
Socialist Field Day! A Fundraiser for Evan for Cambridge
July 20, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Outdoor park near Harvard T stop!, RSVP for Location, Cambridge MA, 02138
Come socialize with comrades over free food, drinks, and games while raising money for DSA-endorsed Evan MacKay's State House race! There will be free food and alcohol as well as fun field day games like a sack race and cornhole, and a raffle for some sweet Boston DSA swag!
Evan has a real chance to win and Marjorie Decker knows it. She’s enlisted the governor and lieutenant governor to headline her re-election launch. She’s raising more money from donors – most of whom don’t live in the district – than ever before in her career. In the coming weeks, she’s going to flood her district with glossy mailers and try to create an air of inevitability against Evan. We know this deluge is coming, the Democratic Establishment is nothing if not predictable.
Evan’s message can win; they’re willing to put in the work and make the personal connections with voters that we know can carry the day. But the campaign needs resources of its own to fight back against Decker’s flood of out-of-district money. Evan, a committed socialist, categorically refuses to take corporate and PAC money. That means that what we can do for our comrade as they run for office is more important than ever.
Join us at a field day fundraiser to help raise money for Evan’s campaign!

PEWG Monthly Meeting
PEWG Monthly Meeting
July 25, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
zoom, zoom, 02138
July will be at the Cambridge Public Library (main branch) community room + zoom
Boston DSA's Political Education Working Group meets on the last Thursday of every month at 7 pm, unless we have to move it for a holiday, which happens more often than you'd think.
PEWG's goal is to provide our members with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to organize effectively and strategically, and to educate the wider public on DSA's vision for a socialist future and the often-erased leftist movements of the past. PEWG hosts a number of ongoing projects, such as the chapter's political education blog (bostonpewg.org), our Socialist Night School series, and periodic New Member Reading Groups (abcsofsocialism@gmail.com).
We also run one-time (or a-few-times) events such as reading groups, lectures, and panel discussions; and work with other working groups in the chapter to run political education events related to their areas of organization.
Working group meetings and events always have a zoom option if you cant make it in person. You can find our meeting's Zoom link or join the working group's mailing list at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/join-the-political-education-working-group?source=direct_link&
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us at education@bostondsa.org.
