You'll be sent a form to fill out with the exact time slots/locations that you're available for, and then you'll get trained up with some good talking points and some literature, and you'll be sent to a polling location to politely encourage voters to vote for Evan!

Recently we saw incredible victories in the form of sweeping electoral wins across NYC & Denver. We will have for the first time in the history of this country a Democratic Socialist Caucus in Congress - with 5 DSA members!!
What’s clear is that working people are fighting back against our capitalist enemies, and it is scaring the establishment that democratic socialists can win & govern!
Here in Massachusetts, we have our own opportunity to demonstrate the power of people over profit, in the form of DSA endorsed candidate, Evan Mackay. Winning Evan’s election will not be easy. The Democratic Party machine is against us, and wants to defeat our movement. This is our opportunity to reach voters, and convince them that a better world, a more democratic and transparent state house, is possible. But it will take every single one of us to make this happen.

This is a great way to learn about movements that have inspired socialists for generations and across the world, like the Milwaukee Sewer Socialists which helped lead to the formation of many socialist and labor parties in other countries?

Contract Rally for Tufts 32BJ

Tufts Academic Quad, 175 Packard Ave, Medford MA, 02155
Workers at Tufts University, represented by 32BJ, are fighting for a contract and are holding a rally and asking for community support. This shop has 100 members that are employed as groundskeepers and in trade roles like electricians, carpenters, locksmiths, painters, and HVAC mechanics. Winning a settlement with Tufts will set the upper limit of what is achievable at MIT, Northeastern, BU, and other universities in the area that employ about 1.7k union members.
The workers main goals are family
sustaining living wage increase, reducing healthcare premiums, union
training and legal funds, and protections for immigrant members. Join us on September 3rd at 3:30pm at West Hall on the Tufts Academic Quad.

The Boston DSA's elected Coordinating Committee meets every first and third Tuesday of the month from 7:30-9:30 pm. These meetings are open to all Boston DSA members, but not to the general public. Coordinating Committee business is conducted over Zoom, with the link provided upon RSVPing. The agendas and notes from each meeting can be requested in real-time here. These meetings are used to deliberate on chapter matters and vote on administrative topics. On specific occasions when the CC is handling sensitive information, it may enter executive session for a portion of the meeting, during which only the CC is present.
Members can make requests of the Coordinating Committee through the Airtable linked here. Specific questions can also be sent in the #ask-cc channel on Discord, or emailed to the entire CC via leadership@bostondsa.org.

Review the eviction process in Spanish, then practice with comrades using scripts or prompts based on your skill level. Food and drinks will be provided!
REQUIRED TRAINING: While we will review basic concepts of eviction defense prior to the practice activities, participants are expected to have attended an Eviction Defense Training in English prior to this event.
SPANISH PROFICIENCY: This event is recommended for those who already have at least a basic knowledge of Spanish vocabulary and grammar (e.g. studied it in high school). Those who do not know any Spanish are still welcome to attend but may find the content difficult to understand.
WHAT TO EXPECT: We'll begin with an immersive Spanish presentation to review the eviction process and introduce key vocabulary and grammar. Then, participants will be paired up based on their Spanish proficiency and roleplay as canvassers and tenants. Vocabulary sheets, grammar sheets, scripts, and prompts will be provided based on proficiency level.

On specific occasions when the CC is handling sensitive information, it may enter executive session for a portion of the meeting, during which only the CC is present.
Members can make requests of the Coordinating Committee through the Airtable linked here. Specific questions can also be sent in the #ask-cc channel on Discord, or emailed to the entire CC via leadership@bostondsa.org.

Welcome to the first of four Town Halls dedicated to 2028 and all it has to offer—a presidential election, general strike, statewide and local elections and ballot measures. Our first Town Hall sets the context for these discussions. What is executive power, in a local and international context? Why should or shouldn’t we contend for this power? What does it take to get it? Join your comrades for a short presentation, gallery walk of ideas, and breakout group discussion!
This Town Hall is intended to contain both introductory and advanced elements to engage with members across the spectrum of involvement—if you just moved here this year for school from another country, or if you've lived here and been politically active your entire life, we have something for everyone. (Then join the group for a social after the Town Hall at Glitch Gallery in Charlestown!)

We are going on an outing to Ren Faire! The closest renaissance faire/festival (and seemingly the only one within reasonable distance for a day trip) is the King Richards Faire (https://www.kingrichardsfaire.net/). It only runs for 8 weeks in Sept-Oct. Scheduling can be tricky, but there are enough people interested and available for Sept 26th, so thats when we will be going! All ages and people are welcome to come along, but please be mindful that while Ren Faire is family friendly, alcohol is served and there are many who partake.

For folks already familiar with ren faire in general, or this faire in particular, abbreviated details:
- Tickets are nearly $50/person (slightly less for children)
- Everyone is expected to obtain their own tickets
- Carpooling is strongly encouraged, parking is limited and it gets busy FAST
- Attending for the most of the day is encouraged to make the most of your ticket. Partial day attendees are certainly welcome, but it may be more difficult to arrange carpooling and you run the risk of parking being limited and needing to take a shuttle.
- Join the signal chat to arrange carpooling and be able to meet up with folks when you arrive!
- If attending for gates-open at 1030am, its recommended to arrive 50-90 minutes before gates-open if you want to get parking in the main lot / not need to take a shuttle (Carver MA is 40mi and ~60min from Boston).
- Cell signal can be hard to acquire (at least in the old location). Please prepare to not have cell service while onsite.
For the uninitiated... Welcome! Ren Faire can be great fun for those who enjoy the niche. While its common practice for attendees to dress up in thematic outfits and cosplay, its perfectly acceptable to attend in everyday clothes. Most outfits arent worth fully donning over an hour ahead of time (for travel), so many folks put on the final touches in the lot before entering. There will be many attractions, shows, vendors (food, clothes, trinkets), and other activities throughout the day. There is food onsite, but its a faire so take that into account. You're welcome (and perhaps advised) to bring your own snacks (e.g. granola bars) and water. Gates open at 1030am and close at 6pm.

The Emergency Tenant Organizing Committee (ETOC) is one of our priority campaigns. We cannot rely on politicians, nonprofits, or NGOs to save us. We organize tenants to fight back against landlord greed, take control of their housing, and end displacement.
Join the Housing Working Group (HWG) and the Merrimack Valley Neighborhood Group (MVDSA) for an ETOC training session, following up from the canvass of the Riverwalk Lofts apartments! These trainings are designed to give organizers the skills and tools they need to launch tenant unions in their buildings, as well as to learn best practices for organizing around maintenance issues or rent hikes. This ETOC training will be specifically geared towards the tenants of the Riverwalk Lofts, but all are welcome!

On an Eviction Defense Canvass (EDC), we visit the homes of tenants with upcoming eviction court dates to inform them of their case details and provide guidance on the cruicial next steps to fighting eviction.
