Spreadsheets for Socialism: Learn with friends and food! (Session 1 of 2)

Community Church of Boston, 565 Boylston Street, Boston MA, 02116Learn basic and advanced skills in CryptPad spreadsheets and how to apply them to your organizing! This free, in-person event series will include food and opportunities to meet new comrades.
We'll provide demos for the group, pausing for questions and practice activities to test what you've learned. At the end, participants will be given a spreadsheet (DSA organizing themed!) to transform using the skills they've learned.

Requirements:
- Have a basic understanding of computers and web browsers
- Bring a laptop and charger to the event*
- Have a CryptPad account (free is fine!)
Schedule:
This series will take place on Wednesdays (April 1 + April 8) at 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Be sure to RSVP for both sessions!
Introductory Topics:
- Managing data (importing, sorting, filters)
- Formatting (cell types, freezing, sheet managament)
- Basic formulas, functions, and charts (=SUM, =AVERAGE, data types, named ranges)
Advanced Topics:
- Advanced formatting (themes, conditional formatting)
- Advanced formulas and functions (absolute references, =IF/IFS, XLOOKUP, data validation)
- Analyzing and reporting (charts, pivot tables)

Labor Circle Meeting | April | Boston DSA Labor Working Group

Community Church Boston, 565 Boylston St, Boston MA, 02116Join the Labor Circle, Wednesday April 1st, 6:30pm at Community Church Boston! We will be meeting on the third floor Sacco and Vanzetti room.
The
Labor Circle is a monthly discussion-based meeting for those of us who
are organizing our workplaces or are interested in doing so. We welcome both workers trying to start a new unions and union members doing rank and file organizing. Come share your struggles and successes in bringing your coworkers to action and provide and be provided guidance and support.
