Boston DSA February General Organizing Meeting
February 8, 2026 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
JFK Elementary School, 5 Cherry St, Somerville, MA 02144, Somerville MA, 02144The Boston chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America typically holds its General Meetings and General Organizing Meetings for all members each month on a weekend afternoon. Interested in DSA but haven't signed up yet? Join us! Members of the public are welcome too.
Please join us at our General Organizing Meeting on Sunday, February 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Somerville to learn about how DSA is organizing in our community – and how you can help.
This month, we’ve got some very special guests! Staffers Bets, Eric, and Milo will be visiting from National to facilitate trainings on core organizing skills. Eric will do a deep dive on listwork; Milo will run a field lead training with a focus on organizing conversations; and Bets will train us on member engagement and onboarding best practices.
At this meeting, we’ll be voting on Erika Uyterhoeven’s endorsement for the 2nd Middlesex seat of the Massachusetts State Senate. Members in good standing should check their email for an email from OpenSlides before the meeting. To request a proxy for the endorsement vote, members must fill out the proxy request form linked in the meeting announcement email by 11:59 pm Thursday, February 5.
After this meeting, we’ll be voting for members of the Socialists in Office Committee (SiOC) and a replacement Comms Coordinator. Members in good standing (who have been members for 30+ days, or who attended the meeting) should look for an email from OpaVote that contains their ballot.
This meeting will be in-person with a hybrid option; please RSVP for the Zoom link. For the in-person meeting, child watch will be provided. Snacks will be available. For the protection of our immunocompromised comrades and as it is the height of flu season, we strongly encourage masking; a variety of masks will be available. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please email accessibility@bostondsa.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.The John F. Kennedy School has on-site parking and is two blocks away from the Porter Square Red Line station.
