Please join us at our chapterwide General Organizing Meeting on Sunday, April 12 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston to learn about our current organizing and our upcoming convention in May–and how you can help.

Masking is encouraged, and masks will be available as well. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please email accessibility@bostondsa.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Reading: (Wretched of the Earth (Frantz Fanon).pdf - Google Drive)
Zoom link: (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81556935827)
Discussion Questions for Ch 3:
-
What situation does the middle class of an underdeveloped nation find itself in immediately after decolonization? What is the duty of an “authentic” national middle class? What does the middle class often do instead?
-
How does the middle class in an underdeveloped nation contrast with European middle classes? What do they lack, and how do they attempt to compensate?
-
How does the behavior of the middle class in an underdeveloped nation and the existing atmosphere of nationalism result in the European bourgeoisie pitting the decolonized nations against each other?
-
How does the bourgeoisie engage politically? What happens to the national party? What is the role of the national leader?
-
What is the end stage of an undeveloped country that has allowed a national bourgeoisie to take hold?
-
What is the duty of a benevolent nationalist party? Where should it be located? What should its relationship with the masses be?
-
What kinds of education does Fanon say are necessary?
