Who We Are

Boston DSA is the Eastern MA chapter of Democratic Socialists of America.

 

We are working against the oppressive capitalist system in its many forms. We see these oppressions — economic inequality, patriarchy, white supremacy, to name a few — as interlinked, intersecting, and inseparable.

 

Join us in building mass movements for the world we deserve and growing an openly socialist presence in communities and politics in the Greater Boston Area.

Boston DSA’s working groups carry out the external political work of the chapter. Working groups are centered strategies such as labor organizing (supporting striking workers and educators) or socialist electoral politics (challenging the legislative system). Working Group Spotlight: Palestine

Join the Palestine Working Group! We’re fighting Warren and Markey by building a mass base around three critical issues – a permanent ceasefire, ending weapons shipments to Israel, and delivering immediate relief for Gaza. For the first time in history, the American people are on the side of Palestine – help us organize them!

  • Language Exchange: Labor (Spanish/English)

    Practice your Spanish/English skills, get to know your Roxbury neighbors, and discuss key issues that affect all workers!

    The theme is Labor: Describe your job, complain about your boss, and discuss the basics of labor organizing.

    Language exchanges allow language learners to practice with fluent speakers in a casual setting. Each event focuses on a specific issue affecting workers, from housing justice to labor unions, so that organizers can express themselves and understand others in their target language.

    This event is for beginners of both English and Spanish. Participants will be provided with vocabulary sheets and conversation guides that are accessible to all skill levels. A facilitator will lead the group, pointing out key terms and prompting particpants to answer questions and pose their own.

    ¡Practica tu español e inglés, conoce a tus vecinos de Roxbury y discute temas clave que afectan a todos los trabajadores!

    El tema es trabajar: Describe tu trabajo, expresa tus quejas sobre tu jefe y y discute sobre los aspectos básicos de los sindicatos.

    Los intercambios de idiomas permiten a quienes aprenden idiomas practicar con hablantes fluidos en un ambiente informal. Cada evento se centra en un tema específico que afecta a los trabajadores, desde la justicia en la vivienda hasta los sindicatos, para que los organizadores puedan expresarse y comprender a los demás en su idioma de aprendizaje.

    Este evento está dirigido a principiantes de inglés y español. Todos los participantes reciben hojas de vocabulario y guías de conversación accesibles para todos los niveles. Un facilitador dirigirá el grupo, señalando términos clave y animando a los participantes a responder preguntas y formular las suyas.
