Who We Are

Boston DSA is the Eastern MA chapter of Democratic Socialists of America.

 

We are working against the oppressive capitalist system in its many forms. We see these oppressions — economic inequality, patriarchy, white supremacy, to name a few — as interlinked, intersecting, and inseparable.

 

Join us in building mass movements for the world we deserve and growing an openly socialist presence in communities and politics in the Greater Boston Area.

Boston DSA’s working groups carry out the external political work of the chapter. Working groups are centered strategies such as labor organizing (supporting striking workers and educators) or socialist electoral politics (challenging the legislative system).     Evan MacKay is a union leader, pro-democracy organizer, and a Harvard teaching fellow. As a Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commissioner and the former president of the Harvard Graduate Students’ Union, they’ve been organizing in Cambridge around issues of social, racial, environmental, and economic justice for over a decade.
    Evan is running for state representative in the 25th Middlesex District to fight for a transparent, accountable government that works for the many, not the few. This campaign isn't about one person. It's about a movement for a better world against a corrupt, self-dealing status quo of Democratic state house leadership.

  • Gender Justice Working Group Meeting

    Join Boston DSA's Gender Justice Working Group as we continue planning our fight for lasting, resilient, accessible trans healthcare and community and refugee support!

    In this meeting we will be regrouping after our presence at a large public event and discussing further actions to build independent access to medical care and partnering with organizations to support resources that aid internal political refugees and other marginalized community members.
