March Resolution Results

Thank you to everyone who participated in the discussion and voting process for the three policy resolutions presented at the March General Meeting. All three resolutions passed; see below for the full results and next steps for all three resolutions.

BDSA Strike Ready Resolution
This resolution, which was submitted by the Labor Working Group, passed with a vote of 157 for and 4 against. The resolution calls for DSA chapters to elect Solidarity Captains to liaise with the National Labor Commission on the national campaign to support UPS Teamsters in their ongoing contract fight.

Solidarity Captains will be elected at the Labor Working Group Meeting on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30-8:00 p.m. Join the Zoom meeting to participate in the vote, and submit your self-nomination form prior to the meeting to be considered for the Solidarity Captain role.

Rent Control Resolutions
The membership has approved both resolutions related to rent control. ‘A Collaborative Process on Rent Control for Boston DSA and its Members on Somerville City Council,’ passed with 65.31% voting YES. The YES to NO ratio was 96 to 51, with 23 empty votes.

‘Request from Boston DSA to its Somerville City Councilors on Rent Control,’ passed with 84.77% voting YES. The YES to NO ratio was 128 to 23, with 19 empty votes. The chapter’s Somerville City Council Socialist in Office (SIO) committee will be alerted of these results.
