Who We Are

Boston DSA is the Eastern MA chapter of Democratic Socialists of America.

 

We are working against the oppressive capitalist system in its many forms. We see these oppressions — economic inequality, patriarchy, white supremacy, to name a few — as interlinked, intersecting, and inseparable.

 

Join us in building mass movements for the world we deserve and growing an openly socialist presence in communities and politics in the Greater Boston Area.

Boston DSA’s working groups carry out the external political work of the chapter. Working groups are centered strategies such as labor organizing (supporting striking workers and educators) or socialist electoral politics (challenging the legislative system). Join the Palestine Working Group! We’re fighting Warren and Markey by building a mass base around three critical issues – a permanent ceasefire, ending weapons shipments to Israel, and delivering immediate relief for Gaza. For the first time in history, the American people are on the side of Palestine – help us organize them!

    Join neighbors and supporters of our movement on Tuesday, February 10th between 9am - 5pm in Porter Square, Page and Leaf Cafe.
    This is the first day of collecting petition signatures to get Evan on the ballot! Come join us to sign Evan's endorsement papers and canvass our neighbors to talk to them about the campaign.

    Massachusetts needs an honest, accountable, and effective state government that can deliver on our values and stand up to the Trump administration. Wear multiple layers and warm clothes, and bring your positivity and enthusiasm 😊
    Evan MacKay is a union leader, pro-democracy organizer, and a Harvard teaching fellow. As a Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commissioner and the former president of the Harvard Graduate Students’ Union, I’ve been organizing in Cambridge around issues of social, racial, environmental, and economic justice for over a decade.
    Evan is running for state representative in the 25th Middlesex District to fight for a transparent, accountable government that works for the many, not the few. This campaign isn't about one person. It's about a movement for a better world against a corrupt, self-dealing status quo of Democratic state house leadership.

  • Evan For Cambridge - Day 1 Petitioning - 5pm Canvass!

    February 10, 2026 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
    Porter Square, 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge MA, 02140

    Join neighbors and supporters of our movement on Tuesday, February 10th - the first day of getting petition signatures to get on the ballot! At 5pm we'll gather in Porter Square to canvass our neighbors door to door to tell them about Evan's campaign and hear about their concerns for Cambridge!
    Join us for the canvass launch at 5pm, we'll split up to connect with residents in every ward and precinct, talk to people our campaign, and ask people to sign the petition to get Evan on the ballot. After canvassing, we'll gather back together to celebrate and connect with fellow volunteers.
